Standings After Race 3

Just 2 points separate the top drivers! Morello has a 7th and two 2nds, compared to Barros with a 9th and two wins. McAffee  is up there too, with no finish worse than 5th. Zetticci also has 3 top 10s. There seems to be about 5 cars that run up front, with a huge drop off in points. It's still early, so any driver can come back, but if they keep getting DNFs, problems will be had.

Belk Darlington 500

The oldest speedway in America, the Logocast Cup series ran in Darlington! Here are the results.

In turn 1, Morello passed Dorian for the lead, leading the pack down the backstretch.
Lap 61: Severn retires due to Header problems, joining Adkins who retired from mechanical problems 9 laps earlier int he race.
Lap 72: Powers didn't see Dorian above him, and slid up the track getting into the wall and causing both damage. Both cars pitted to fix the damage, and ended both driver's chances to win. No caution was called.
Morello managed to open a HUGE lead on everyone, as much as 24 seconds at one time. He was in lapped traffic most of the race while leading.
Lap 162: After retiring last week, Walkowiak has engine troubles giving him a trip home early(and an 18th)
Lap 181: While everyone was circling trying to catch the 21, Tabulov had gearbox problems ending his day.
Lap 322: Nothing but putting in laps happened, Harkins makes a bad day worse for Chretein Racing, retiring from suspension troubles.
Lap 326: Just 4 laps later, last weeks winner Wick retires from Gearbox troubles. Wick has 2 DNFs on the year so far, but was the best driver to not finish the race.
Lap 159: With under 10 laps to go, Morello had been trying to lap the back half of the top 10 for many laps now, long enough for Barros to slide to the top and pass him on the high side.
Lap 364: While trying to rally back, the 82 of Bowen slid up and collected Morello bringing out the first and only caution of the race.
Under yellow, Barros leads the cars across the line and gets his 2nd win on the season.
Here are the final results! Very uneventful, just had a lot of DNFs. Only 3 cars led this race. Morello led most of the race, Barros led the last 10, and Wick held a lead for a while when pit stops were cycling through. A total of 6 DNFs is a series record. None of them were from a caution.
Atlanta is the site of the next race. Our first mile and a half trioval! The best drivers are starting to distinguish themselves, and the points race is very tight.

Qualifying Results: Belk Darlington 500

Qualifying at Darlington is complete! Big Stuff racing will start 1st and 3rd this week, and Team Harden is on the front row for the 3rd straight race. Points leader Davis McAffee will start on the outside of the 9th row. Taylor Motorsports also needs a bunch of help coming from 17th and 20th.

News

I realized that the smoke effects from spins and car breakdowns were off on most tracks. Those are now on and will be featured in this weekend's race at Darlington.

Also next season, I'm thinking about doing a duel weekend set of races. A custom track named Desert Winds Speedway has a 2.3 mile trioval and a 4 mile road course. I want to expand the schedule next season with a few more unique tracks now that I know how to download them. So I think a double feature would be really cool. The track layout looks like this.

What do you guys think? I would like some more involvement from everyone. When we do the tournament, I'm going to post a bracket and you all can fill them out and we can see who wins

Team Standings

Week 2 is in the books, and Northstar remains at the top of the team standings. With 2 top 10s, they stretch their lead over Fletcher Autosport from 7 to 24. If Irons didn't crash with 10 laps to go, things might have been different. Taylor Motorsports made progress salvaging their season, gaining 5 points on Northstar, and jumping 3 teams in the standings. The top 4 teams are in the top 4 in standings, so it will all depend on how the #2 driver does.

 P | Driver | Pts | Pts Back
1. Northstar Motorsports 621 --
2. Fletcher Autosport 597 24
3. Team Harden 579 42
4. Revolution Motorsports 568 53

6. Chretein Racing 522 99
7. Taylor Motorsports 519 102
8. Team Powers Racing 517 104
9. Irish Lads Racing 512 109
10. Big Stuff Racing 501 120

Standings After Race 2

Standings after the second race! The top 5 managed to get closer together by inconsistent results at Rockingham. Wick's 20th place finish hurt him originally, but a win doesn't hurt and puts him in 8th place, and 47 points behind Morello. It's still too early to tell who will win, but the contenders are starting to show their face.

BB&T 400

Race 2 of Season 1! Who will bounce back? Who will continue their run to the championship? Well see below!

Lap 1: Barros beats Morello to the holeshot and takes the lead
Lap 2: The green flag run didn't last long. Zach Dorian and Jim Powers get caught on eachother in turn 1
Lap 2: Racing back to the line, 3rd place Adkins spins it into the wall.
Lap 132: Running in 2nd, 20 seconds behind Morello, Flint has to pit due to gasket troubles.
Lap 151: On the same lap, Powers(2 laps down from the incident) retires from electrical problems, and Walkowiak retires from header problems.
Lap 240: The race was almost settled. Only Wick and Morello were on the lead lap from pit stops cycling through, Tabulov and Unger hit eachother in turn 2, bringing out a caution.
Lap 180: With 17 laps to go, Harkins spins right infront of two contending cars causing a caution bunching the field up for a shootout.
Lap 187: Irons was looking to hold onto 2nd, but lost it in lapped traffic and spun up the track. No caution was called and ruined his day.
Lap 393: Anthony Wick led the a lot of this race, and holds on for a huge win. A last place finish in Homestead was salvaged by a win at the Rock.
Here are the results. Wick almost lapped the field on the green runs. He deserved a win, and got it in dominant fasion. Only Northstar had 2 top 10 finishers, but the rest of this race was very random and the top 5 all just escaped trouble long enough.
The series heads south 50 miles to Darlington next weekend. The oldest speedway in the US will be a huge test for all these drivers. Expect a lot of DNFs.

Qualifying Results: BB&T 400

Team Harden has a great qualifying result again. 2 for 2 on poles, Tommy Morello puts the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes car in P1. Barros will start on the outside front row trying to make the points lead even larger.

Team Standings

Here is the first installment of the team standings. The points aredetermined by both drivers' points added together. Northstar had a win and a 10th place finish, so they edged Fletcher Autosport in the standings, who had a strong run with a 4th and 6th. Taylor Motorsports stumbles out of the gate with the bottom to positions, 109 points behind first. They need strong runs in the future to get back in the hunt.

Standings After Race 1

Too early to tell anything from these standings. Every car is even, so Wick could win and Barros could come 20th and they'd be even. The only two Toyotas in  the field had problems, so hopefully TRD can figure things out. I do know that a lot of cars set themselves up for a good season by starting well.

Florida 400

Welcome to the inagural Florida 400! Here is what went down in the race.

Lap 5: Jamie Simms(4), who was on the pole for the event, was passed in turn 1 by Brendan Irons(87).
Lap 16: Scott Unger gets loose in the back of the pack, and spins into the wall. No caution.
Lap 60: Almost identical incident puts Drew Tabulov into the wall coming out of 4.
Lap 100: After a debris caution, Jim Powers(13) motered by Brendan Irons stealing the lead
Bad day for Taylor Motorsprts. Wick (26)retired with engine troubles, and Fischer retired with electrical problems. These were the only two DNFs.
After green flag pitstops, Matt Zetticci(6) and Matheus Barros(10) battled for the lead.
Around lap 200 during green flag pit stops, Tommy Morello(21) and Zach Dorian(61) collide coming off of turn 2. This brought out the second caution of the day.
There was an epic 3 car battle for the lead for the last 40 laps. Barros came out on top before Powers and Zetticci.
And here are the final results. Fletcher Autosport and Northstar Motorsports both get top 10s for both cars. The 400 mile race ended really close, and was a great opener for season 1.

The series will head up the road to Rockingham and race on the miler track up there next weekend. Can Taylor Motorsports rebound? Can Barros extend a slim points lead? Find out next week!

Florida 400 Qualifying Results

Jamie Simms of Team Harden will sit on the inagural pole of the Logocast Cup Series. He just edged the 82 of Tim Bowen, with Brendan Irons and teammate Tommy Morello closely behind. 4 of the first 5 are Fords.

News

The Logocast Cup series will begin races this weekend(hopefully)! Depending on wifi connections in the hotel I will be staying at in Philadelphia, I will post the results of the opening Florida 400 in Homestead.

The scoring rules will change. Instead of running individual sims, I will edit the schedule of the seasons on the game to our 14 race schedule. Everything will be saved and stored there, with in depth points. The points will be based off the 1999 system.

Only 20 cars will race this year. Instead of waiting for another person, we will have a nice number at 20 drivers with 10 teams.

As of now, races will not be recorded. I cannot find a program that records for windows 8. If I do halfway through, then I will start. But screenshots have worked for me in the past.

I will open up the All-Star race voting soon. We will decide on a track that is not on the schedule to run at after the 14th race.

So lets get at it, boys!

Team Powers Racing

The 10th and final team have been announced! Owner Chris Powers will manage the #1 Adesa, and #13 Irving Oil Chevrolet SS in this first season of Logocast Cup. Jasen Severn and Jim Powers will be driving.
