2013 Logocast Cup Series All-Star Race

Here it is! It's time for the big All-Star Race. The 13 driver field looked like this to start. Severn and Simms raced their way in and start up front and look to contend.
The cars take the last opening green of the year
Driving up front, shoot out winner Jason Severn spins in turn 3 and hits the wall. A handfull of cars got stuck behind him, and Severn was forced to pit and end his day.
Lap 24: Champion Matt Zetticci splits Simms and Fischer with help from a teammate to take the lead
Lap 35: In just over 10 laps, a new group of leaders emerges and pulls away. Irons, Irish Lads Racing, and Wick made their own pack.
Lap 40: Fischer and Powers are the first to bite the bullet and duck to the pits
Lap 65: The pit stops cycle around, and the pack catches up to eachother. Simms was racing well and led the small group.
Lap 68: The pack was in one big group, but Zetticci spins and collects the 25 and 17. Zetticci had to pit, taking him out of the race.
Lap 68: Zetticci's day officially ends, the leader blows an engine and has to retire.
Lap 82: Fischer and Powers pit together again. Both were running in the front and needed one more stop to finish up.
Lap 91: The cars that had the best pitstop break away. Irons, Adkins and Wick now are in a 3 car battle for the lead.
Irons is in the lead going into the last lap!
Wick takes a look to the inside of Irons in turn 4 trying to win his forth race of the year.
Wick takes the checkered flag! The guy knows how to win.
Here is how the results looked

So that's the last race of the year! I hope everyone enjoyed it. We'll do some offseason stuff soon, but I'll see you all in Hometead and HOPEFULLY on YouTube next year.

2013 Logocast Cup Shootout

Here is the order the boys started in the shoot out race
The pace car led the group of drivers trying to get into the All-Star Race, with Richmond and McAffee at the front. The top 2 after 40 laps moves on!
Lap 9: Everyone is shuffling around, making partners and challenging the lead
Lap 20: The bottom two guys in points were working to spoil the chance for drivers who deserve it more.
Lap 38: Morello takes the lead with 2 laps to go!
Lap 39: The bottom line gets together and passes Morello on the bottom. Severn leading the pack.
The race comes down to the line, and Severn edges Simms by .017 seconds!
The race had 25 lead changes in 40 laps, which has to be some kind of record. The restrictor plate race proved to be wild, and it wasn't even the last one of the night!

2013 Final Standings

I'm gonna make this announcement, the champion of this season will be Matt Zetticci. The reason I'm making this call is that the game had him as the champion. If Barros was named champion, then that would open a rabbit hole of bonus point controversy. I don't want to eliminate all bonus points because it helps drivers out.

So that's it! Congrats to Matt Zetticci and the entire Revolution Motorsports team for being the innagural champions of the Logocast Cup Series.

2013 Season Standings Review

With the events unfolding last night, a few questions arose on the points. The game had Barros ending up 4 points short of a title with the champion being Zetticci. Barros had all 10 bonus points on the screen that pops up after the race is over, with a 1 point victory margin over the 6.

We know that Barros FOR SURE led over 100 laps. He lost the lead between lap 106 and 130. Wick had a good pit stop and led the second half of the race after Bowen crashed. The race as 267 laps, meaning with both of those drivers lead 100 laps, Flint automatically wouldn't have gotten the bonus for the most laps. He did lead a bit, but not much.

But should the outcome from the game be changed? In the game, it has Zetticci as champ. If we go in and change the champion, then it might open a pandora's box of point changes.

I personally think Barros should be crowned champion. Brent watched the sim with me, and saw that Barros had earned 140 points before I actually exited. Flint would be subtracted 5 points, allowing Bracket to pass him in the points also.

I'm gonna see everyone's opinions on this and figure out the mode of action.

The final point standings are under investigation.

Final Standings

Here are the final standings. Zetticci wins with bonus points being taken away from the 10 car magically. I don't have proof that the 10 car lead the most laps, but it did say he earned 140 points in the first results screen we saw.

Wick jumped up and took 3rd. 3 wins and 4 DNFs is a tale of extremes.

Thank you everyone for this season, it was actually fantastic and I loved doing it.
